Collagen Induction Therapy (CIT)or Micro Needling is an exciting innovative skin rejuvenation treatment that can improve the overall appearance of your skin. The CIT / Micro-Needling process involves the creation of microscopic channels in the skin that enable the absorption of up to 80% more topical nutrients. By creating these channels in the skin, the product can reach damaged cells. The microscopic damage and increased absorption of active ingredients into the skin, tricks the skin into thinking it needs to repair itself. This allows for direct blood flow to that area stimulating fibroblasts to feed the cells. What skin types are suitable for this treatment?
It is suitable for all skin types and all areas of the face, neck, décollete and hands
Who is not a candidate for Micro Needling?

the treatment should not be performed within 2 weeks of having an injectable dermal filler or botox.

the treatment is never performed on raised moles, warts or lesions

during pregnancy (when breastfeeding the treatment is allowed)

medication (some medication may reduce healing time, please advise your therapist on anything you may be taking)

the treatment will not be performed if the client has an active herpes or acne breakout, however, once resolved the treatment can go ahead after 2 weeks

medical conditions( ie diabetes etc.) will need a medical certificate.
How many treatments will be needed?
Rejuvenation 3-6 treatments 4 weeks apart
Acne Scarring: 5-6 treatments 6 weeks apart
Stretch marks: <> 10 treatments 4-6 weeks apart
Should you prepare your skin before having micro needling?
For optimal results we recommend a period of effective active treatment creams such as Vitamin A, or C etc. (especially for thin or delicate skin areas) to maximize the benefits from each treatment. Your skin care specialist will recommend Pre and Post Care Instructions.
How long should it take before you see results?
Typically, you will see results after the first treatment. The results are gradual as collagen re- production takes time, most clients report a gradual improvement in their skin color and texture over 6- 8 week period. Lasting and more significant results will occur after 4 to 6 treatments (spaced 4-6 weeks apart). That improvement is compounded as each consecutive treatment is performed. Your skin will continue to improve over the next 6-12 months after a course of treatments and when combined with recommended post treatment care. So it’s really important to apply creams at home and commit and rebook your treatments to see the best results.
Is the treatment painful?
A topical numbing cream is applied for approx. 35 to 40 minutes before the treatment is started to minimize discomfort.
Is there any downtime after treatments?
Side effects are minimal, including mild swelling, mild bruising and peeling.
The inflammatory reaction of the skin is extremely short and fades significantly within hours from the redness and the feeling of a sunburn to pinkish that may last for 12 to 24 hours on average.
The first week after the treatment you may get some skin peeling which helps lighten pigmentation or scarring and the skin looks more hydrated.
It is important to protect the skin with sun screen SPF30+.
How soon after filler injections can you have a
micro needling treatment?
It’s recommended to leave at least 2 weeks or more after filler injections so that any post treatment bruising and the fillers can settle
